Day 0 - Berlin

Es geht wieder los...

Ganze 4 Jahre ist es jetzt her, dass ich mich auf meine große Reise durch Nord- und Südamerika vorbereitet habe. Und so richtig lässt mich die Reise per Velo nicht los. Ich sitze also wieder hier in Berlin und gehe Packlisten und Routenpläne durch.

Diesmal hat mir es der Süden Afrikas angetan - einmal entlang der Südafrikanischen Ostküste von Durban nach Kapstadt. Ich habe für die 2000 km ungefähr 3 Wochen eingeplant und bin gespannt, ob sie reichen werden.

Die Garden Route verspricht atemberaubende Landschaften und ich bin mal gespannt, wie die Straßenverhältnisse so sind und ob mich das ein oder andere wilde Tier am Wegesrand ein Stück begleitet.

In diesem Sinn: wir sehen uns auf der Südhalbkugel!

Here we go again... 

It's been 4 years since I was preparing my trip to North and South America. And I have to admit: travelling by bicycle is just the way it should always be. So I'm sitting here again in Berlin and go through packlists and route plans. 

This time, I am fascinated by the south of Africa. My journey will take me along the South African east coast from Durban to Cape Town. For the 2000 km trip I have calculated around 3 Weeks and I'm curious to find out, if this will be enough. 

The Garden Route promises breathtaking landscapes and I'm curious what the road conditions will be like and whether some wild animals along the way will accompany me a bit. 

Therefore: see you in the southern hemisphere!
